I’m searching for this year’s Garden Enforcer: a marigold that will discourage root nematodes.
How lovely that just one’s scent could deter a villain. My first choice, “Jolly Jester,” was sold out. I have since learned from the internet that any of the French marigolds will serve. And so I will search again, for this year’s underground security squad.

Hot lavender, mints, savory, marjoram,

Hi Amy
I hope I have good luck cutting and pasting this list-how handy. I have always put marigolds and various flowers in the garden, and want to do more with herbs–so seeing this list gives me the little shove I need to do just that!
I got some wonderful french marigolds “Hero-Bee” from HPS seeds last year . They sell in larger packets, for VERY reasonable prices if you want to check them out.
Good luck!
I will look for those seeds! Thanks for the tip! Herbs are just marvelous — looks, scent, food, and medicine. Check out “Herbs” by Emelie Tolley and Chris Mead.
